[Case Study] Type Management Using UHF Band RFID Tags
Anyone can work without mistakes in a short time! Here is an introduction to a case study of RFID implementation at a certain casting parts manufacturer.
We will introduce case studies of IC tags and labels that can be used on-site, which our company handles. At a certain casting parts manufacturer, RFID was introduced for mold management of large casting parts. Multiple mold frames and wooden patterns are combined to create the casting mold for the production of a single large casting part. Before the introduction of RFID, veteran workers relied on their experience to pick the necessary mold frames and wooden patterns from the mold warehouse. However, with the introduction of RFID, even less experienced workers can now pick the required mold frames and wooden patterns accurately and quickly. [Challenges Before Implementation] ■ Picking Mold Frames and Wooden Patterns - When less experienced workers are in charge, it takes time to search, and there are many picking errors. ■ Management of Mold Frame and Wooden Pattern Locations - It is common for items to become unaccounted for, whether they are in storage, in use, or under repair. ■ Usage History - There is no history of usage frequency, and there are no clear criteria for repair or disposal. ■ Inventory - Inventory is conducted once every six months, taking two days with dozens of people involved. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.
